Technical Structure
The Thimble restoration consists of two functional layers:
Titanium framework with coping geometry (thimble framework) This forms the mechanical foundation of the entire restoration—precisely machined from medical-grade titanium. The titanium framework connects to the implants, bears the full occlusal load, and simultaneously functions as a system of “abutment copings” onto which individual crowns are cemented.
Individual crowns Each tooth in the arch is an independent crown unit, cemented directly onto its corresponding thimble coping. This design delivers a key technical advantage: flexible repairability.
Artificial Gingiva Royal Dental Lab uses Bredent (Germany) composite gingiva—a premium aesthetic choice with outstanding ability to recreate natural gingival colour and form.
Localised Repair—No Need to Remake the Entire Arch
This is the core differentiator of the Thimble design: when a chip or fracture occurs at any single tooth, the laboratory only needs to address the specific damaged unit. The entire titanium framework and the rest of the arch remain intact—significantly reducing repair cost and turnaround time for the patient.
In contrast, with traditional monolithic full-arch restorations, even a minor chip often requires intervention across the entire arch. The Thimble design solves this challenge directly.
